The course will address the basics of Python programming before lunch including conditional statements and iteration, lists and dictionaries, functions and reading from and writing to text files. After lunch, we will tackle a sample OCR non-exam assessment task (http://bit.ly/2f6J4bs) where I will show you how to structure a larger Python program and give you some ideas for good practice which you can share with your students.
This course is intended for those who have experienced the Python programming language but require extra support to gain the confidence to teach it in the classroom. Even though the task we will work on is from OCR's J276 specification please join us if you are teaching a course offered by another exam board. The skills you will learn are applicable to any exam board specification.
