Event description

Description

Presenter: Dr Aimee Blackledge, LDC Development Programme

This workshop focuses on problem-solving and decision-making and is relevant to all PGRs during any stage of their PhD.

We all feel stuck sometimes, especially when you have tried options which have not been successful. However, feeling stuck can makes us feel less motivated about our research and have a negative impact on our productivity. During this workshop we will identify the obstacles that are making your feel stuck, generate creative solutions to overcoming these problems and take steps toward making decisions that will enhance your research practice.

Using Design Thinking processes, you will gain a variety of creative and critical mindsets to help you focus on being mindful of your own research process, working style, emotional wellbeing and your assumptions. You will be asked to continue your self-reflection and plan how to implement your learning after completing the workshop.

This collaborative and interactive session is part of the ‘critical and creative thinking’ development theme and offers opportunities to gain skills/behaviours outlined in the following Researcher Development Framework (RDF) subdomains: A3 Creativity, A2 Cognitive abilities, B1 Personal qualities, B2 Self-management, B3 Professional and career development, D1 Working with others and D2 Communication.

Registration: You are recommended to use your University of Liverpool email to register on Eventbrite and then the calendar invitation will be added to your University calendar. We reserve the right to remove registrations of attendees who do not appear to be members of this University.
