Getting your Teens to Listen
Overview
Getting Your Teen to Listen
"They never listen to me!" It's one of the most common (and most frustrating)experiences of parenting teenagers. But what if the issue isn't about your teen not listening, but about how we're trying to be heard?
Join us for this online workshop where we'll explore how shifting from control to collaboration can transform communication with your teenager. We'll look at why this approach actually helps them listen and engage, rather than shut down or push back.
We'll cover practical techniques for deescalating tense situations with your teen, and dive into the crucial role of tone, timing, and word choice, because it's not just what you say, but how and when you say it that makes all the difference.
You'll also take part in engaging, practical activities designed to help cement your learning and give you tools you can use immediately. Whether you're met with eye rolls, silence, slammed doors, or outright arguments, this workshop will help you find new ways to connect and communicate.
