GHANA YOUTH DAY 2017

FREE ENTRY | FREE FOOD AND DRINKS | LIMITED SPACES | FREE REGISTRATION

The Ghana Youth Day Committee in conjunction with Ghana High Commission UK, Ghana Tourism Authority and Tullow Oil will be hosting Ghana Youth Day 2017.

This event is the response to the sad losses of life to gun and knife crimes, as well as a way to engage young people with the assistance of our supporters and collaborative community groups.

The day will be broken down into segments with workshops delivered by various experts and along with special guests including FUSE ODG, Reggie n Bollie and Zafi B

Other notable attendees will include positive role models of Ghanaian culture who are considered ‘Achievers' from our community.

The first session of the day will be a careers session from 10am till 12.30pm, which aims to build basic employability skills such as CV writing, covering letter writing and networking skills. By the end of the session, you will be able to:

To build an eye-catching CV
To write an effective covering letter
To learn about the importance of networking
To learn how to deliver effective elevator pitches
To learn about personal branding and its contribution to your career

The session is designed with the audience of young people between 14 and 18 in mind, however all enthusiastic participants of any age are welcome. The dress code is smart casual and attendees are not expected to have done any prework before the session. All required materials will be provided.

Ghana Youth Day is being proudly sponsored by Tullow Oil Plc, WorldRemit and supported by ABN TV - Sky Channel 235, ABN Radio, Ghana Union, Akwaaba UK, Abrantee, Desire UK, GUBA, Me FiRi Ghana, Afropulp and many more These community groups and organisations have come together as they recognise the need for an outlet in which critical dialogues can occur between peers, role models and parents alike.

The theme for the event is ‘Our Youth, Our Society, Our Future’ as we recognise the importance of young people to the future of our community. The negative portrayal of young people and opportunities available to them in the UK, are narrowing.
