Ghana Youth Day 2019
Date and time
Description
The Ghana Youth Day Committee supported by The Ghana High Commission UK invites you the Ghana Youth Day (GYD) 2019. The GYD event is in response to the escalation of gun and knife crimes amongst the youth, resulting in the sad losses of life and the tearing apart of families and communities.
It will aim at bringing some role models, community groups, consultants and key influencers on board to engage the youth through workshops, careers advise and mentoring sessions to create sensitisation about the impacts of gun and knife crime.
There will also be entertainment in the form of cultural displays and performances by leading UK urban artistes.
There will also be a number of key positive role models of Ghanaian decent who are considered ‘Achievers' within our community to speak to and share experiences with the youth.
Ghana Youth Day 2019 is proudly sponsored by Tullow Oil Plc
The theme for the event is ‘Our Youth, Our Society, Our Future’ in recognition of the importance of the youth to the future of our community. The organisers, sponsors and supporters of this event are taking an active step to prevent any further losses of young life through gun and knife crime and hope fervently that the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) community as a whole will support this mammoth task.
