Curious about the teams behind the scenes making sure the sound hits just right, the lights dazzle, and everything runs smoothly?

Gig Green is a 4-week course designed to introduce you to the world of backstage and technical roles in live music and events — with a focus on sustainability, safety, and hands-on experience.

From backline tech and stage rigging to lighting, sound, and green event practices, you’ll learn what it really takes to be part of a live crew — and how to build a meaningful, sustainable career in the music industry.

Foundations:

  • What goes on behind the scenes at gigs & festivals
  • Key backstage and technical roles
  • Production flow & communication on-site

Technical Skills:

  • Sound systems & live audio basics
  • Lighting setups & power
  • Stage rigging, load-ins, and backline
  • Health & safety on site
  • Introduction to sustainable live event practices

Live Experience:

  • Hands-on practice in a live gig setup
  • Work as part of a real crew
  • Build confidence, experience, and your portfolio

  • Demonstrate practical technical skills across sound, lighting, and stage

❓ Do I need experience?

Not at all. This course is designed for beginners and those with limited experience who want to explore backstage careers in a supportive, hands-on environment.
