Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

For those of you who have never attended Gilwell Reunion, and those of you who have, the Gilwell Reunion is well worth attending. It provides an amazing opportunity to meet friends both old and new, to explore the history and to share the experience of being at the home of all Wood Badge holders throughout the world. In addition to the fun packed social opportunities and taking part in some amazing activities, there are also a large number of workshops and seminars catering for all different Scouting roles, and opportunities to pick up some brilliant programme opportunities and ideas.

Gilwell Reunion is open to all adults in Scouting, whether or not you have already achieved your Wood Badge. It always takes place on the first weekend in September and this year is no different. I am delighted to invite you to join me and several hundred, or perhaps thousands, of other adult Scouts at Gilwell Reunion 2017. I am planning to provide coach transport from Devon (and back again).

Limited hold space on the coach will restrict everybody to one hold bag, to include your necessary camping equipment such as a tent and sleeping bag. We will not be able to accommodate mess tents and the like. Similarly, there will not be space for cooking equipment. Instead, all meals can be booked at Gilwell so you can have a complete break and enjoy yourself!

To secure your seat on the coach, please send a cheque for £37 per person payable to Devon County Scouts (stating that it is for Gilwell Reunion) to Jane Batchelor at:

14 Barracks Road
Fremington
Barnstaple
Devon
EX31 3FP

I will contact you with joining instructions nearer the time.

Paul (Skip) Charlton
Deputy County Commissioner (Programme)
