About this event

Join us and the expert jewellers from Vanilla Ink CIC at the distillery for a bespoke ring-making experience.

You'll get hands-on with the techniques jewellers use to carve jewellers wax, a forgiving and easily shaped material that makes this experience suitable for complete beginners and experienced jewellery-makers alike!

Your unique ring will then be sent off to cast in silver using the lost wax process. The jewellers will then finish the ring in their workshop and post it back to you.

This workshop will be led by Vanilla Ink CIC, which is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting creativity and innovation with social equality, tolerance and justice and their core.

Our very own gin expert, Colin McLean, and his partner Jess hand-carved their engagement rings with Vanilla Ink CIC. We'll celebrate your new ring carving skills by closing the class with a tasting of the gin Colin & Jess designed together for their wedding, our popular Something Blue (or a cocktail of your choice).

This is a raer opportunity to make a totally unique and custom piece of jewellery for yourself, or to create matching rings for yourself and your partner.

Tickets are very limited - don't miss out!

Fancy a whole day of gin & jewellery? Join our morning class as well to learn how to make your very own enamel pieces for custom pendants and earrings!

Frequently asked questions

Is there an age restriction for the jewellery-making?

The class is strictly 16+. If you are 16 or 17 we will substitute a mocktail or soft drink option for the gin tasting.

What do I need to bring with me?

All jewellery making equipment will be provided. Carving can be fiddly, so if you need glasses to see close-up please bring them with you.

Are there any additional charges?

The class is costed based on the size of ring once cast. The jewellers will advise whether you are under or over the limit - if you would like to create a heavier ring then they will be able to advise you on rough costs for this.
