Event description

Description

The Class of 2017 Big Art Project will be themed around our school motto, 'Chasing Horizons'. We will use the breathtaking view of London on the second floor at Paxton to help students to consider the huge range of possibilities that their life offers in the future and use their ideas to as inspiration to create large pieces of art as a group. Arty Party will curate their work at our new school to help create a feel that is modern, bursting with inspiration and, crucially, is the product of the ideas and efforts of our pioneering Class of 2017 students.

The Class of 2017 Big Art Project will take place at Paxton School, Woodland rd, SE19 1PA on Saturday 14 and Saturday 21 January, 10am-3.30pm.

We are able to offer 30 places to children who have applied for a place at Gipsy Hill School on a first-come, first-served basis. Your child is welcome to attend on either day but we request that you only sign up for one session to enable as many children as possible to take part.

Gipsy HIll School will subsidise the project but we ask for a small voluntary contribution of £2 (payable of the day) to cover the cost of the artists who will be supporting us. We will provide drinks for your child but we request that they bring a packed lunch with them.

We will showcase the work that the Class of 2017 produce on our website early in the New Year!

Please note that this event is only available to children who have submitted an application to join Gipsy Hill School's Year 7 cohort in September 2017.
