The theme of the GIRLS ON THE FRONT LINE CONFERENCE 2016 is: "...When A Girl Falls In Love..."
In JOHN 21:15-17 we read about the time shortly after Jesus had risen from the dead where He asked Peter, one of His closest disciples 3 times "Do You Love Me?" This question to many of us might come across as an absurd question considering that throughout the entirety of Jesus' ministry Peter had been at the forefront of all the miracles, signs & wonders, sermons and even the unforgettable Transfiguration of Christ. He had walked with Jesus, stood with Jesus, ate with Jesus and had even tried to fight for Jesus on the night He got betrayed by Judas Iscariot in the Garden of Gethsemane.
With all things considered, Peter responded on all three occasions with a solid YES confirming His love for Christ. With each Yes that Peter gave, Jesus followed it with an instruction for Peter to fulfill. However what is interesting to note is that when you look at the original Greek text Jesus was referring to Agape (unconditional) love in His question while Peter was answering with Phileo (brotherly/friendship) love. They were talking about two different things!
Now, over the years many have posed numerous reasons as to why Jesus asked Peter this question however what undeniably stands out is the fact that for the level that Jesus required Peter to operate in where service of Him was concerned, it required a higher level of love, devotion and intimacy from him. He understood that unless one fell in love with the KING, then any attempt to advance His KINGDOM would be fruitless, pointless and short lasting.
Therefore as young ladies desiring to grow in our walks with the Lord on whatever path He chooses to take us, we cannot be complacent with staying on the same level neither can the motions of church once or twice a week, the occasional 'churchy' social media post, a half-hearted glance at the Word, an emergency call type approach when it comes to Prayer or even the work of the ministry itself (b/vlogs, preaching, singing, dancing etc...) substitute the experience of being completely head over heels in love with Jesus. It's your love for Christ that will sustain you as you fulfill purpose and will enable you to carry out the great Commission in these end times.
Saturday 15th October 2016 will be a wonderful day of teaching, learning, transparency, praise & worship, fun, renewal, revival & restoration in the presence of Jesus as well as a time to be equipped to continue the life long love affair with Him outside of the church walls. COME EXPECTANT because amazing things happen, WHEN A GIRL FALLS IN LOVE!
