Developing knowledge of fundamental git usage in a practical context.

Are you new to git? Do you use git at work but hope it doesn't do anything unexpected? Does talk of rebases, merges and submodules confuse you? If so, this course is designed to help you.

Going from the very basics, this course takes a practical approach to getting you to understand how git works, and gives you the tools to understand what is going on when you maintain a git repository. It is structured in four parts:

  • Core concepts

  • Advanced local usage

  • Working with other git repositories

  • Advanced usage

At each stage you will be working through examples and challenges yourself to gain a better understanding of git as it is used in a professional context.

By the end you will be confident enough to discuss complex workflows and solve real-world git problems that leave others desperately searching google for the magic words!
