"It cannot be overstated how essential the principles of the Birth Without Fear system are to being the best support you can be for your partner. Trying to understand what they are experiencing and implementing the techniques outlined in the book, can turn a potentially very daunting and overwhelming experience into a manageable and even enjoyable one".

Gerard, Birth partner

"Our session with Emilie on Birth Without Fear was crucial for my pregnancy and labour. When we were approaching to the last months of my pregnancy, I started to be afraid of my labour and I will be all alone in coping with that pain. Emilie's help relieved my worries completely and made me experience this process conscious and confidently. The fact that we learned how my husband can support me through contractions, has completely eliminated my fear and loneliness feeling before labour. As my stress before labour was abolished, I was able to welcome my 48 hours long contractions in a calm and confident way. Strongly recommend to all parents to be to have a calm labour experience!"

Based on the book Give Birth Without Fear by Susanna Heli (Clink Street, 2021), this method trains your birth partner to support you on your childbirth journey using hands-on and practical tools based in the science of physiology.

Each tool links to the physiological stress response system and its connection to the emotion of stress or fear and HOW we can actively change it to how the body behaves in the emotion of trust and confidence. This is what will ultimately unlock the birthing physiology that you were born with. Feeling SAFE is the key to allowing your baby to be born, because we are ultimately supposed to give birth when we feel safe. The person who is the bridge to that very important emotion is your chosen birth partner. That is why the method focuses on training them in how to read your body language and know what to do to guide you physically and emotionally towards feeling safe in every contraction - to ensure the emotionally safe birth experience that you both deserve.

This is the trusted and established method originating in Sweden used by thousands of expectant parents throughout Scandinavia and by hundreds of maternity professionals within the health care system.

The session is facilitated by experienced midwife and UK method ambassador Emilie Wicks who will gently guide you through the theory and practice, step by step, with plenty of room for questions.
