Join Lindsey of Dorset Forest Bathing on a guided walk around Kingcombe National Nature Reserve, where you will be coached in the art of Shinrin-Yoku. Lindsey has a background in conservation and uses basic scientific terms to help you understand how to get the most from your time outdoors in nature.

Kingcombe National Nature Reserve is set within some of the most un-spoilt countryside in the country. There is a café open Wednesday - Sunday 10am - 4pm or you are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy within the reserve either before or after your session.

Forest Bathing originated in Japan when scientists found that time spent in forests, slowing down and tuning into senses was both beneficial to physical health as well as improving emotional wellbeing. They call it Shinrin-Yoku.

Proven health benefits of Shinrin-Yoku include;

Parking is free however it is limited, please do car share where possible.

You are welcome to enjoy refreshments at the on site café before the session. (The café is open Wednesday - Sunday 10am - 4pm). You are also welcome to bring a snack / picnic and a drink of your own to enjoy whilst you are here. There are toilets available in the visitor centre.

Please book early to avoid disappointment! Events will be cancelled if not enough places are taken.

Events will continue in light rain but will be cancelled in very bad weather or in case of emergency. Please keep an eye on your emails and be aware of any updates that may come through up to 24 hours before the event. In exceptional circumstances if we have to cancel on the day of the event we will contact you via telephone (this may be by text).

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear long trousers, and sturdy shoes suitable for off road walking.

Due to the terrain this event will not be suitable for wheelchair users however, please do get in touch if you would like to take part and / or you have any concerns about accessibility as we will do our best to make arrangements for you either at this event or elsewhere.
