Explore the nature reserve at Kingcombe with Dorset Wildlife Trust ranger Daisy Meadowcroft, who will lead you around the grounds taking in the sights and sounds of this special location.

The nature reserve is managed as a working farm, grazed by cows, sheep and Exmoor ponies, without the use of modern agricultural practices. The result is a patchwork of fields of unimproved flower-rich grassland, broken up by thick hedges, streams, ponds, ancient green lanes and wooded areas spreading up the valley either side of the River Hooke. This mosaic of habitats supports a wide range of wildlife.

We expect the walk to last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, as we take note of the five ways to wellbeing:

Please be aware that there may be areas of uneven, steep, and muddy ground - please wear appropriate footwear.

Please book early to avoid disappointment! Events will be cancelled if not enough places are filled.
