Description

Going for gold in CSR

Tuesday 13th September 4-7pm

EY, 1 More London, SE1 2AF

The GivingForum was launched to bring individuals from GivingForce’s wider network to discuss important topics in-depth and share best-practice. The next GivingForum will prepare you to ‘go for gold’ with your CSR programmes. We’re inviting pioneering individuals to discuss how to nurture CR leadership in themselves, their teams and their employees. We aim to help you discover how you can gain recognition in the sector.

Topics up for discussion

How do you nurture leadership?

Beth Knight, EY EMEIA Financial Services Head of Corporate Sustainability, conducted research to understand the key competencies required to be an effective sustainability leader, as part of her Master’s thesis at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. She will be encouraging you to discuss and share your experiences and insights on how your company develops effective sustainability leaders and how we should be challenging business to develop these critical behaviours.

What makes a leading CSR team?

How can you drive your team towards your social impact agenda? Isabel Kelly will talk about her experience establishing the Foundation teams of Salesforce and Sage, and challenge you to think about your organisational and team structures. What combination of people, experience and resources creates a winning team?

How do you lead your employees towards responsible behaviour?

Is the key to an award-winning CSR programme engaging your people through a purposeful culture? A guest speaker from Barclays' Citizenship team (tba) will talk about employee participation within their global workforce. Discover how you can encourage your employees to take initiative with responsible behaviour.

About our speakers

Beth Knight established a model that highlights ten critical and prominent behaviours that make up an effective sustainability leader. These findings have been published in a report: A Behavioural Competency Model for Sustainability Leaders that is available online.

Isabel Kelly is the Founder of Profit with Purpose and a Practitioner in Residence at the Skoll Centre, Oxford University. She started her career at Oxfam, spent 11 years at Amnesty International, then over 12 years set up and ran the international team of the Salesforce Foundation - making it self-funding through earned income.
