GLADD 2018 Student Event
Event Information
Description
Join GLADD for our 2018 Student Event! This year's student event is set around the theme of welfare, with topics focusing on:
- LGBT student welfare issues, by Tom Rapanakis from BMA Counselling.
- Trans* health and welfare, by GLADD member, Dr Sukhy Parhar, Senior Clinical Fellow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Accessing sexual health services whilst on placement, Dr Matt Page, GU/HIV Registrar
Hosted at the Bishopsgate Institute in City of London - a wonderful venue and holder of GLADD's archives - this FREE student event promises to be not only a great opportunity to meet other LGBT+ medical and dental students; but also an opportunity to hear from speakers about welfare topics that affect you.
Alongside talks, we have arranged a short tour of GLADD's archives held at Bishopsgate Institute, and there will be an informal social after the event.
There are limited spaces at this event, so book on ASAP!
Attendees must be registered as a GLADD student member by the time of the event. A number of travel bursaries to help with reasonable costs of attending this event are available for GLADD members who meet certain criteria. Please contact students@gladd.co.uk for more information.
