Here at GLAMOUR, we are all about celebrating diversity and championing every type skin tone, hair colour, body type and wobbly bit and when we find brands and companies doing the same, we want to shout about it.

That’s why we were pleased to hear the news that our favourite beauty platform, Pinterest, recently rolled out its inclusive beauty feature in the UK. The new function allows users to search for beauty looks according to their skin tone, meaning the results you get are far more customised than ever before. Hell YAS.

The evening will kick-off with a panel discussion on diversity in beauty hosted by GLAMOUR’s Beauty Director Camilla Kay who will be joined by Reena Rai, Pinterest’s Creator Marketing Lead and social media beauty qweens Diipa Khosla and Mahina Makeup.

During the event, Reena will be showing you exactly how Pinterest’s genius complexion-matching tool search works and how you can use it to create your next dreamiest beauty look, with a MUA makeup whizz on hand to help you colour match correctly. You’ll NEVER get it wrong again.

The updated Pinterest tool means that you won’t have to scroll through endless looks not relevant to you anymore (because, let’s face it, not everyone suits porcelain concealer or pink eyeshadow) instead you’ll get the results that reflect your own skin tone and colouring.

If you search ‘beauty’ in Pinterest’s search bar and press enter, you’ll soon see four different colour palettes of skin tones to choose from, with the message ‘pick a skin tone range’ prominent at the top of the results page. In fact, you’ll see the skin tone bar appear on some of the most popular beauty-related terms such as ‘smokey eye’ ‘red lips’ ‘party hairstyles’ and ‘eye makeup.’
