Is iNTER a full or part-time academy?

iNTER Performing Arts is a part-time performing arts academy that offers tuition outside regular school and college hours. iNTER is the perfect add-on for exceptional young talent. School takes care of the necessary learning for everything else, and at iNTER, students enjoy thriving and learning in the most creative and exciting way within the performing arts.

If successful, you will:

Audition Information

Audition Eligibility: New students aged 4-18 | beginner to advanced levels

Start date, if successful:

Attend the Glasgow Audition Day for a chance to showcase your talent and secure a placement from 24 August onwards

Audition Day Booking Fee:

£10.00

The Glasgow Audition Day Booking Fee is redeemable against enrolment if accepted and enrolled into an iNTER Performing Arts programme.

Accompaniment:

Applicants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Each auditionee should purchase one ticket. Only auditionees require tickets; the accompanying adults do not need to buy tickets.

Parent/Guardian Facilities:

Parents and guardians are welcome to wait in the fabulous iNTER Reception area to enjoy complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee, and biscuits while their child auditions. There are comfortable seating areas with facilities to charge mobile phones, laptops, etc.

Can't make the Glasgow Audition Day?

Contact us to arrange a Private Audition at a time that is convenient for you. Depending on the time of year you audition, if successful, you will be offered a placement for our next intake dates.

NB: iNTER Performing Arts Scotland and its charity, UK Theatre School SCIO, are one and the same, working to help disadvantaged, talented young people get involved in performing arts. Fees go towards young people's training and progression into further education within the performing arts. If you feel your child is talented but would require help with fees, please get in touch, and we can provide a means test application form for help with fees.

Frequently asked questions

What is the audition process for children in P1-P7?

It's relaxed and fun! Juniors participate in acting, singing and movement workshops, where they can show their passion for getting involved and having fun. If they have a favourite song, nursery rhyme, poem, monologue or funny story they'd like to perform, we'd love to see it!

What is the audition process for young people in S1-S6+?

Engaging, energetic & inspiring! Mids & Seniors will join a dynamic movement session, learn a group song with a top singing coach, and take part in an acting class with one of our acting tutors. They can also perform a monologue, speech, or a verse & chorus of a song of their choice (1-minute max).

What classes and programmes do you offer?

How do I let you know the types of classes or programmes I want to attend?

On your Eventbrite Booking Form, you can outline the programme(s) where you hope to gain placement. Those who book through Eventbrite will secure their audition slot immediately.

I want to be considered for a Musical Theatre programme. What should I prepare for my audition?

Applicants looking to gain placement in a Musical Theatre Programme must perform a verse and chorus of a song of their choice, preferably from the musical theatre genre. They can also show an acting piece if they wish, but not essential.

I want to be considered for an acting-based programme. What should I prepare for my audition?

Applicants looking to gain placement in an acting-based programme must perform a monologue or speech (up to 1-minute long). They can also show a song of their choice if they wish, but this is not essential.

When will I find out if I have been successful in my audition?

We will send an email to your parent/guardian with the outcome of your audition within ten days.

I come from a low-income household. Are there any discounts available?

Audition fees can be waived before the audition in certain circumstances. Applicants can apply in advance for a free audition where affordability may pose a problem. There are also means-tested bursaries available on all programmes. For more information, email funding@interpaa.com.

I want to be considered for a dance-based programme. What should I prepare for my audition?

Applicants seeking placement in our Dance Performance Programme must perform a short (up to 1-minute) dance routine in any dance style that best shows their ability. They can also provide dance exam certification to show their dance qualifications to date.

iNTER Performing Arts Academy (formerly known as UKTheatreSchool) is an award-winning, private independent performing arts academy that successfully bridges the gap between drama clubs/youth theatre and further education performing arts establishments - as well as having its own very successful casting agency representing young people globally.

iNTER’s charity, UKTheatreSchool SCIO, also provides scholarships and bursaries for talented young people who would otherwise be unable to train in the arts.

This very successful academy boasts a 100% pass rate on all exam syllabi taught within the school, with many students gaining distinctions across the board.
