The symposium will feature insightful talks from experts in the field, interactive discussions, and opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals passionate about making a difference in our community. Whether you're a seasoned community development practitioner, researcher, or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone looking to gain new insights and inspiration. This event will feature short presentations from students and staff on the community development programme. They will be sharing findings from their practice-based research in Glasgow and beyond. There will also be time for collective discussion and reflection.
Presenters will include:
- BA Community Development students, speaking on the findings of their final-year dissertations
- Dr Joyce Nicholson, speaking about the ethics of community-based research with mothers and children
-Dr. Louise Sheridan, speaking about the problem with youth empowerment
- Eilidh Lamb, speaking about the Bairn’s Hoose as a space for children to be seen and heard in communities
This event is open to anyone with an interest in community development research, including community workers, academics, students, and of course community members.
A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The event will be free to attend, but registration is required to ensure we can provide enough food and meet your needs.
