The Glasgow Film Education Alliance (GFEA) Conference is for teachers (both primary and secondary), educators and youth workers interested in how film education ca be used in and outside of the classroom.

It is an opportunity to hear about the resources and organisations that can support you bringing film education into your practice.

We will have keynote speeches from Gail Robertson of Screen Scotland and Louise Ballantyne QIO Literacy and formerly of Glasgow Improvement Challenge.

You will also hear from Glasgow Film Theatre, Glasgow City Council Toward's Better Future's team and Into Film about how film education can improve outcomes for children and young people and lead into meangingful career opportunities.

Finally there will be the opportunity to try out some of the resources and activities yourself and to ask questions from our film education practitioners.

We encourage early sign up for early access to the schedule and first choice of workshop sign ups.

Glasgow Film Education Alliance was founded in 2019 and funded by Screen Scotland and is in it's fifth and final year of activity.

Our mission was to work collaboratively to identify gaps in film education and film careers provision, to investigate the benefits of film education interventions both in and outside the classroom and to create resources and opportunties to support this work.

This conference is the culmination of these efforts.

Our aim is that teachers and educators leave inspired about using film education in their own context and with a better understanding of support and resources on offer as well as the opportunites that can be sign posted to young people looking to purse their passion in film.
