About this event

Aims

This half-day intensive course aims to develop an understanding of the steps required to achieve predictable, reproducible, and successful endodontic outcomes using evidence based endodontic principles. The blended learning approach brings together the theoretical knowledge with the hands-on techniques that allows consolidation of existing skills and development of new approaches to overcome common endodontic difficulties.


Objectives

Learners will be able to:

To gain an understanding of the importance of the Pre- Endodontic Assessment this will include an update in Local anaesthetics in Endodontics, an understanding of the importance of restorability assessment and when to restore the root treated tooth.

To gain an understanding of the importance of periodontal assessment and occlusal assessment, as well as, how to carry out the assessment to determine restorability and post treatment restorative advice.

To assess the importance of Special investigations, when to choose which investigation and the importance of radiographic assessment, as well as, CBCT in Endodontics

To provide an overview of endodontic case assessment – when to refer?

To determine success and survival in endodontics based on evidence-based literature and how to discuss this with your patients.

To re-establish an understanding of the various pulpal and periapical diagnoses and the importance of diagnosis for treatment planning

To discuss medico-legal concepts in Endodontics as well as designing clinical assessment notes and treatment notes, as well as Consenting in Endodontics

To try mechanical preparation using NiTi shaping instruments (Sendoline S3) and understand the importance of irrigation for chemo-mechanical debridement of the root canal system.
