Hear about wildlife on colliery spoil, nature reserves created from old factories, and Glasgow’s unique water voles.
About this event
We hear much about the biodiversity crisis, with worldwide declines of wildlife populations. There is another side to the story. With wildlife occupying sites previously used for human activities: derelict factories, disused railways, waste dumps. Throughout the day, hear about wildlife on colliery spoil, nature reserves created from old factories, Glasgow’s unique water voles, and discuss the exciting five-year GALLANT project which is using Glasgow as a ‘living laboratory’ to show how a city can be transformed into a sustainable environment where nature and people can co-exist.
Suitable for all ages. Children under 16 accompanied by an adult.
This conference is part of a weekend of events, including two excursions. You are welcome to join us for one, two or all three events. Each event requires an individual booking.
