Glasgow's Finest: Stories of the Victoria Cross

Lt Col Allan Downie takes audience members on an in-depth exploration into the City of Glasgow’s Volunteer Corps, how they were formed, how they evolved into the Territorial Force, and their involvement in the Gallipoli Campaign, 110 years ago. Audience members will get the unique chance to look at some of the uniforms the Corps adopted and the drill halls where they were located.

If you’re planning to visit by car, please be aware that the museum doesn’t have on-site parking. However, on-street parking is available on surrounding streets for a fee. Nearest multi-storey car park is on Elmbank Street for a fee (5 minute walk).

Is the museum accessible?

The museum's ground floor is wheelchair accessible. Please note that the Talk will be hosted on the second floor which is only accessible by stairs. The museum is in a listed building with no lift.
