About this event

  • Event lasts 35 days 2 hours

A great course for beginners and those wanting a refresh, over a 6 week period Chan will take you through a number of glass fusing techniques.

These will include cutting styles, layering Bullseye glass, making inclusions using copper, working with Reactive Bullseye glass, silver staining, glass slumping (to make a bowl/wave), tac fusing, pot melting and silk screen printing, allowing the last two weeks for you to use your new skills to make your own project. Additional techniques will be introduced for returning students.

No previous experience is necessary.

This course takes place at our studio which is a peaceful place to learn, class sizes are small to allow for someone to one time with Chan each week to discuss the development of your skills and your final pieces.

PLEASE READ THE FAQ's below - they tell you how to find us, where to park, blue badge parking and the use of tools - thanks!

Frequently asked questions

How to find us

When you reach Vine Grove, walk to the end where the turning circle is and head for the ORANGE teardrop flag, we are the 'plant' house next to the tidy neighbours. Head up the passage way and turn right into our garden.

Accessibility

There are two steps down into the garden, and two up into the studio, the studio door has a lip on it.

The use of tools and your hands

Chan will show you how to break glass safely, this is done using a number of tools. If you have challenges with your hands/recent injuries or surgery, email us in advance to check this out.

Parking

Please park on a side street, we recommend Akesmoor Drive SK2 6BU, it is a few minutes walk away from us and is off the main road. If you have a blue badge or mobility needs, email us to reserve a parking spot near to the studio, we just have the one spot so please book ahead.
