About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Our class sizes are small to allow for some 1:1 time with glass artist Chan Foy, who will guide you through the technique of assembling Bullseye transparent and opal glass in readyness for a pot melt. You'll make one main piece of glass, your creation is fired & is ready to be picked up from the studio in around 2 weeks time. Students have the option of having their work 'slumped' into the shape of a bowl, this can be arranged when you attend the class and costs and additional £10. This technique is not widley taught and we are running this one off class due to student demand, so booking early is advisable. Unlike a traditional fuse, a pot melt takes a lot longer and is fired to a hotter temperature and this is reflected in the cost of the class.

Refreshments are provided, please feel free to bring snacks and an apron.

When you arrive at Vine Grove, please walk to the turning circle at the top of the cul de sac, Chan will be around to greet you. There is a passage way between our house and the tidy neighbours, please come down this and turn RIGHT, you'll see the studio in the back garden. To access the studio you will walk down two steps on to the garden path, then two steps up into the studio.

Parking is recommended on a nearby side street - Akesmoor Drive (SK2 6BU), it is a few minutes walk from the studio. There is limited parking for Blue Badge holders near the studio so please email in advance if you require a place reserving (there are 2 parking spaces).

A pre-course email is sent to all students a few days before the class, please look out for this as it often ends up in junk folders (it will be from stockportglassfusing.com).

We look forward to meeting you and starting your glass journey with us:)
