A weekly therapy group which offers a creative alternative to explore emotions & support your wellbeing with others on the same journey...

About this event

This group serves to be a creative sanctuary away from the busy pace of life. A moment of wellbeing, self care and healing for yourself. A place for you to explore your emotions as creativity. A safe space for you to share your feelings once a week in the company of other gentle creative souls, to be heard and respected and to offer shared trinkets of wisdom collectively with one another.

WHAT HAPPENS EACH WEEK?

Each week we will be exploring a new emotion with a sharing circle, reflecting on the ways in which we're all individually responding to this theme at this time in our life. I'll then guide you into exploring this emotion as a visual symbol, which we'll go on to express as our own unique art works from.

There's an opportunity for reflective sharing about any emotions that come up during this process as we show one another our finished creations and explore the metaphor and meaning behind each one, sharing any useful insights we might have to offer.

To close, I'll be guiding you through an imaginative visual meditation to bring us all back home to ourselves, with the intention of bringing you healing in line with the explored theme of the week.

DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT ART?

Don't worry; you don't have to be good at art to enjoy this colourful healing! It's also totally okay if you don't feel like sharing and you won't be pressured to do so.

WHAT DO I NEED FOR EACH SESSION?

All materials are provided :) We ask that you bring a donation in cash as payment if you can.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Of course, the main healing comes from the therapeutic art aspect but many people also find that healing comes from feeling part of this little community of likeminded people each week, who start to feel like old friends before long.

TESTIMONIES:

“I was so nervous about joining this but Kubi is such a compassionate soul and has perfected the balance between deep thoughtful and reflective contemplation and a brilliant sense of humour. “

“I look forward to this every single week! Not only do I feel totally held and listened to by the group, but I feel like I’m also able to share insights and wisdom to help others too. I feel like I’m changing my own life through art but I’m also helping to change others too!”

“There’s something really special about the way Kubi holds space and her process. A great blend of imaginative meditation and creative expression.”

“Lockdown has been a really lonely time for me but, through this group, I feel like I’ve found my community. Who knew it would be online! So nice to connect with others and share our feelings from all across the world. So many of us seem to be going through the same challenges.”

A BIT ABOUT KUBI MAY:

GLASTONBURY ART AS THERAPY GROUP image

I'm trained as a Creative therapy practitioner with a BA Honours in Creative Expressive Therapies. Before going self employed, I worked as a Creative Therapist for an Intensive Intervention Team in the UK , mostly working with children and families on the edge of foster care. I've taken my creative therapy ideas all around the world- from helping the refugee crisis in Calais to forming an activist art group in London for the Climate change marches, so i'm a big believer in the transformative power of art! :) It's so wonderful to watch so many people blossoming more and more into self empowered happiness each week in this group. Many people arrive to this group feeling lost, alone, broken and worn out, and it makes my day to see them leaving with more light in their eyes and a smile on their face as they realise their true potential.
