Glen Shiel is the perfect playground for trail and mountain runners, offering everything from undulating trails and ridgelines to rocky peaks, all a short distance from the road. A steep climb up, and you're away from it all, with a mountain panorama stretching-out in every direction.
Only 1.5 hours from Glencoe, the north side of Glen Shiel is formed by the famous Five Sisters range (3 Munros) and opposite, is the classic South Glen Shiel Ridge - a runable ridge connecting 7 Munros. It's a tall order to complete either of these routes in one day but with a Girls on Hills guide, you can now summit all 10 in a single challenging weekend! Our professional mountain running guides will show you the way and keep you safe on this big mountain running adventure...
The planned itinerary* is as follows:
Saturday: South Glen Shiel Ridge 27km, 1800m (Munros Creag a' Mhaim, Druim Shionnach, Aonach Air Chrith, Maol Chinn-dearg, Sgùrr an Doire Leathain, Sgùrr an Lochain, Creag nan Dàmh). Est 7-10hrs
Sunday: Five Sisters of Kintail 15km, 1400m (Munros Sgùrr na Ciste Duibhe, Sgùrr na Càrnach, Sgùrr Fhuaran). Est 6-8hrs running time.

The centre offers well-sitated bunkhouse-style accommodation with a sociable feel. It has a basic but full-equipped self-catering kitchen, sitting room with wood-burning stove, dining room, drying and laundry room for your use. For the duration of the weekend we will have sole-occupancy of the whole centre.
What's included?
Course costs include guiding and instruction plus two nights of accommodation (Fri & Sat)
*Please note that Girls on Hills guides will amend the above intinerary according to the weather and may need to shorten the route/s if conditions are poor - however we will seek to complete the planned itinerary as long as it is safe to do so.
What if I can't manage it?
To run ten Munros in one weekend, you will need to have level good hill fitness and stamina, plus prior experience of fell-running. But fear not - we will be doing plenty of walking as part of our routes. You don't need to be a fast runner but should be able to keep plodding for up to 10hrs! Please don't be afraid to join us and give it a try. The good news is that there will be options for a shorter, walking day on the Sunday if Saturday takes more out of you than expected.
