Glens & Upper Witham – Catchment planning workshop
Overview
Join our workshop for abstractors, water users, and stakeholders to explore water management in the River Lark catchment.
We would like to invite you to a workshop specifically for abstractors, water users and stakeholders with an interest and knowledge in the Glens and Upper Witham catchments, and how water is managed within it.
Date: Thursday 4 December
Time: 9:45am for a 10:00am start – 3pm (including lunch)
WRE, working with partners, are hosting a workshop for the Glens and Upper Witham catchments to collaboratively inform the management of water resources in the future across the catchment. This workshop will seek to:
- Collectively review the current understanding of flow requirements, ecological data, environmental destination information, abstraction and wider characteristics in the catchment
- Offer an opportunity for collaborative prioritisation of key activities for monitoring and action
- Develop innovative ideas and solutions
- Provide an early opportunity to feed into wider work such as regional water resource planning, Environment Agency’s sustainable abstraction reviews, drainage and wastewater management planning, catchment plans and more
- Facilitate discussion about shared opportunities for water resources across the catchment.
This workshop will build on the previous work across the catchments and delve into the data for the Glens and Upper Witham catchments. The workshop has been organised in collaboration between the Welland Catchment Partnership, Witham Catchment Partnership and Nottinghamshire FWAG.
We encourage abstractors and interested parties from all sectors to attend, to maximise the opportunities for discussion and conversation. Data has been drawn together to inform this session, which will be shared in advance, so that discussions build on previous work in the area. Please let us know if your organisation has work or projects that you would also like included.
Please let us know of any dietary requirements by e-mailing: contact@wre.org.uk.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available.
