Art Macabre invites you to give 'death drawing' a go. Our deadly destination on our global tour of the curious this time is ROMAN CATHOLIC BRAZIL, with a specific focus on Holy Week celebrations and religious iconography.
Art Macabre's Global Curiosities series presents a Holy Week special. Life drawing salons with a lethal dose of curiosity and the macabre. From 'Friday of Sorrows' to 'Black Saturday', we'll transport you to the sacred heart of Roman Catholic Brazil to explore religious rituals and community celebrations surrounding the death of Christ. Expect Weeping Mary statues, bleeding stigmata and religious iconography to inspire your drawings. Featuring nude and costumed models, narrative and music to draw to.
£10 adv tickets, £15 on the door. All materials provided.

At each event, Art Macabre invite you to explore a different culture through drawing- taking you on a dark voyage of discovery around the globe.From macabre Ancient mythology to current curious customs, each event will explore deathly rites and rituals, festivals and folklore at a life drawing salon that is defiantly different. Art Macabre present Death Drawing salons, injecting a lethal dose of curiosity and theatricality into life drawing events. Named one of the top 21 fun things to do in London by Lonely Planet, Art Macabre resurrects the joy of drawing with extra gore. We invite you to grab an artistic weapon of choice and come make some killer marks with us. At each event, a different deadly theme will be explored through the nude human form, costume, narrative, props and themed music playlists.
