What is a CodeRetreat?

Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design.
By providing developers with the opportunity to take part in focused practice, away from the pressures of 'getting things done', the coderetreat format has proven itself to be a highly effective means of skill improvement.
Practising the basic principles of modular and object-oriented design, developers can improve their ability to write code that minimizes the cost of change over time.

Why should I attend?

CodeRetreat is a fun and challenging day where you will build on your coding skills and learn different approaches to the same problem. CodeRetreat is a great opportunity to meet, and learn from different developers. You will stretch your existing skills through various pairing and TDD challenges while keeping a focus on clean code.

What do I need to bring?

You'll need to bring along a laptop, ready to go with your preferred IDE, TDD framework for your preferred programming language, and a version control system (e.g. git). Please ensure everything is ready to go before you come along. If you need any help in setting this up, please reach out!
