As the dust settles on a year of political turmoil there continues to be widespread uncertainty over the impact of these events on the global economy. However, with details beginning to emerge regarding the likely Brexit pathway for the UK and early signs of the USA increasing domestic investment whilst becoming more protectionist it is possible to start to evaluate the likely impact.
We are pleased to be joined by Henk Potts, Director of Global Research & Investments for Barclays Wealth and Investment Management and Mark Richards, Managing Director in BUK, Head of Private Clients & Specialist Solutions teams within Barclays Wealth UK who will discuss the latest economic forecasts to allow you to address the likely challenges for your business and for your customers’ businesses.
About the session leaders:
Henk Potts, Barclays
Henk Potts joined Barclays Bank in 1998 as a graduate and worked as a Stock Market Analyst for Barclays Stockbrokers, focusing on UK equities.
In his current role, Director of Global Research & Investments for Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Henk analyses a wide variety of asset classes, including equities, currencies and commodities, as well as ascertaining and explaining the effects of macroeconomic changes on financial markets.
Henk has regular television and radio commitments as our in-house stock market expert and writes columns for various national UK newspapers and personal finance magazines.
Mark Richards, Barclays
Mark Richards is a Managing Director in BUK, Head of Private Clients & Specialist Solutions teams within Barclays Wealth UK.
Prior to joining Barclays in 2008, Mark was National Sales Manager at HSBC covering the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man, where he was responsible for mortgage distribution, financial planning and IFA advice across the UK branch network.
Mark is educated to degree level, is a chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Association of Professional Sales and member of the Institute of Directors.
