Global – Historical – Problematic: Archives Book Launch

Thursday 19 October, 5pm – 7pm (with presentations at 5.30)

Liverpool-in-London campus

33 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1AG

LUCAS invites you to a celebratory launch of three significant books published this year by Routledge. Join us at the London campus of the University of Liverpool in Finsbury Square for an opportunity to meet the authors and editors, hear about new directions in archival research and publishing, enjoy networking opportunities with colleagues, purchase reduced price books, and enjoy a glass of wine with views from the 7th floor of our campus building, formerly the home of the Bank of Nova Scotia. And if you’re thinking of publication yourself, representatives of Routledge’s Museum & Heritage Studies and Library & Information Science lists will be present.

James Lowry (ed.): Displaced Archives brings together leading international experts in an exploration of the current situation analysing the impact of displacement on government administration, nation building, human rights and justice

Margaret Procter and Paul Delsalle: A History of Archival Practice provides, for the first time in English, a chronological account of the topic, from Mesopotamia to the end of the twentieth century emphasising the continuity of archival functions over time

Alison Turton (ed.) Handbook of International Business Archives: with 14 expert contributors, the Handbook will undoubtedly become the standard reference work on the nature and context of business archives, their management and their use

A number of lucky attendees will receive free copies!

The event is kindly sponsored by the Business Archives Council, Routledge and the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures, Liverpool University, and is free to attend, but please register.
