Leeds Trinity University in partnership with the Global Learning Programme (GLP), the Geographical Association and Leeds DEC, is delighted to invite you to a whole day of exciting and inspirational input from experienced teacher educators, school staff and pupils in our Global Learning Event on Thursday June 25th.
We are offering a not to be missed opportunity to take part in a whole day of quality CPD and activities, and to share and learn more about the work currently being done to embed and integrate global learning in the curriculum in primary and secondary schools. AND IT’S ALL FREE!
We are thrilled to have Dr Paula Owens presenting as our keynote speaker. Paula works for the Geographical Association where she leads on the Primary Geography Quality Mark, the Geography Champions initiative and aspects of the Global Learning Programmes in England and Wales. Paula's background is as a teacher: she taught for many years and has experience as a deputy and head teacher of primary. She has also worked in Initial Teacher Education and regularly works with both primary and secondary teachers through CPD.
The plan for the day includes quality CPD in the form of workshop input from CAFOD, Leeds DEC, the Global Learning Programme, The Geographical Association and a number of our partner schools as well as staff and students from Leeds Trinity.
We have invited a range of exhibitors and there will be time in the day to browse the exhibition and pick up free resources and network! We will also have some musical interludes from local schools for you to enjoy.
We do hope you will want to join us in celebrating the exemplary work currently being done by schools in our region to embed global learning in their curriculum.
We feel sure the day will create a real buzz amongst primary and secondary colleagues and will further enhance and support the development of partnerships between schools and agencies across our region.
Leeds Trinity University is proud to provide this opportunity FREE to primary and secondary colleagues across the region as we recognise the importance of this work in helping to raise attainment and engagement through an exciting and inspirational approach to curriculum development. We are also delighted to offer this event as feeding into our 50th Year Celebrations as a higher education institution in a positive and exciting way.
Please do feel free to pass this information onto any of your partner schools and contacts.
Closing date for registration via www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/leeds-trinity-university-6034762691 is 2nd June
