Overview: This is a 2-day course which will focus on how to perform a thorough pelvic floor examination on both female and male anatomy. Hands on experience with the examinations include both a digital rectal examination, vaginal and prostate examinations.

The first day will focus on pelvic floor management, including investigations and conservative management. The second day will include how to perform a thorough pelvic floor examination on both female and male anatomy, the examinations include both a digital rectal examination, vaginal and prostate examinations.

Course Convenor: Tatenda Marunda.

The Learning Objectives: Delegates will have a greater understanding of the national guidance on pelvic floor assessment. Are objectives are to provide delegates with essential skills on how to perform digital rectal examinations and vaginal examinations competently.

The Learning Style: Lectures and practical sessions.

The Target Audience: GI nurses, Midwives, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist, GI clinical Physiologist/Scientist, Urology & Urogynaecology CNSs, New gastroenterologist, New colorectal surgeons, geriatricians and Speciality Doctors.

Venue: 1st day will be hybrid and the 2nd day will be in-person at the Avery Jones lecture Theatre, St Mark’s Hospital.
