Global Punk Series Book Launch
Event Information
About this event
Series editors: Russ Bestley, Mike Dines and Paula Guerra
Founded through the Punk Scholars Network and published by Intellect Books, Global Punk is a book series focusing on the development of contemporary global punk ‘scenes’; reflecting upon their origins, aesthetics, identity, legacy, membership and circulation. Critical approaches draw upon the inter-disciplinary areas of cultural studies, sociology, musicology and social sciences in order to describe a broad and inclusive picture of punk and punk-inspired subcultural developments around the globe.
This event launches three new books within the series: Trans-Global Punk Scenes: The Punk Reader Volume 2, Punk Identities, Punk Utopias: Global Punk and Media and PUNK! Las Américas Edition. The event will include a Q&A with the Global Punk series editors, Russ Bestley, Mike Dines and Paula Guerra, alongside PUNK! Las Américas Edition editors Olga Rodríguez-Ulloa and Shane Greene, and selected chapter authors.
Music will be supplied by DJ, Chris Low.
Books will be available at a discounted rate.
The event is free, but tickets must be pre-booked.
