Event Details

Global Teach-In Scotland brings together vibrant voices for sustainable change.

Edinburgh joins 12 cities around the world to

  • Learn
  • Share &
  • Make Change Happen

How do local movements to take control of food, energy and finance relate to wider global issues?

What’s wrong all over & what’s fixable locally?

How can we the people do it for ourselves?

Taking place simultaneously in cities across the world, the Global Teach-In involves face-to-face deliberation, teleconferencing and an internet-based broadcasting network.

This worldly-wired and locally-live event includes discussions with Scottish experts, grassroots activists and citizens concerned with developing sustainable solutions to problems linked to our past over-dependence on multi-nationals.

Global Teach-In Scotland Speakers:

Lesley Riddoch, famous feisty journalist, commentator, broadcaster with an ear to the voice of the Scottish people and an eye on Northern Horizons.

Mike Small is the founder of the Fife Diet local food movement, which aims to take back control of the food system, or 'occupy food'. He is an activist, writer & publisher focusing on experimental democracy, ecology and innovation.

Peter Geoghegan, editor of Political Insight, freelance journalist specialising in emerging ideas and how they can change the world we live in.
