Global Teacher: Solar-Powered Projector Launch!

We're launching the world's first educational, 3D printed, solar-powered projector to teach one million marginalised students, offline and off-grid!

Access to digital education is difficult for many. 31% of the global population does not have 3G coverage, while 15% have no electricity.

Global Teacher is a #TechforGood Charity committed to making digital education accessible, without internet or mains power, using our innovative 3D printed solar-powered projector, named Pod.

Pod is a low-cost, durable, sustainable, solar-powered projector; which uses our bespoke offline learning management system. In this way we can make digital education accessible in rural parts of the developing world.

6:30pm - Arrival & refreshments

8:00pm - Open networking

Additional information:

The Beam reception will be manned by security and guests will be permitted entry into the building from 6:15pm using this entrance . If you are unable to make the event, please give us as much notice as possible and cancel your EB ticket. There is parking nearby the venue and the nearest Metro stops are St Peters & Sunderland Central. The two aforementioned stations are within a short 10 minute walk from The Beam.

The dress code is smart casual however please wear what you want - it is a celebration after all.

To keep everyone safe we would recommend all attendees take a lateral flow test prior to the event. Feel free to wear a mask if you wish however this is not compulsory for attendees. Kindly respect others and their personal space.
