Global Teachers' Network: Sing as a Global Citizen!
Overview
In this session, we'll hear from teachers and experts who are using music and song as ways towards better mental health and a better world.
For over 27 years Fischy Music songs have nurtured the mental Health & Wellbeing of hundreds of thousands of children. To quote, 'Songs are at the heart of everything we do. There is significant scientific evidence that singing reduces stress, improves immunity and physical health and aids memory and learning.' We'll hear from Judith at Fishy Music on the work of this organisation and how links can be made with Global Citizenship / Learning for Sustainability.
We'll also hear from Primary practitioners using song as a vehicle to enage learners with social and enviornmental issues.
There will be an opportunity for discussion and a chance to offer your own teaching experiences around these approaches. Relevant resources will be shared.
