What kind of people comes to this event?
Our community brings together professionals, students, travellers and locals. You will meet a mix of native English and Spanish speakers, along with learners who want to improve their skills from beginner upwards.
Some people also join as listeners to get a feel for the event, and that is completely fine. We are happy to assist and make sure you feel part of the group.
You can come on your own or with friends. Either way you will find a supportive and inclusive community ready to practise languages and share culture together.
How does it work?
The event lasts two hours; participants take part in a series of 1-to-1 or 1-to-2 or 2-to-1 or 2-to-2 conversations, which last 30 min each: 15 min in Spanish, then 15 min in English before participants switch table and meet a new participant. It is a good idea to start with your introduction, and then you can move on to any topic, but if you do not know how to start, you can ask for topic suggestions to make your conversation as friendly and comfortable as possible.
Arrive Early and Settle In
The language exchange starts at 7:00 PM. We recommend arriving about 10 minutes earlier so you can grab a drink, get comfortable and explore the food menu with authentic Latin American flavours.
