About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

Glorious Stitch is back with four summer workshops! To celebrate sunshine, colour and the joy of making.

We are delighted to offer these new workshops from our resident textiles artist Ann Davies, well-known for her beautiful contemporary stitch workshops and unique stitch dolls.

The four workshops on Saturday 5 July, Sunday 27 July, Saturday 9 August and Sunday 24 August can be booked individually or as a set (all are listed on our Eventbrite).
As usual there are no end products, each session is based on stitch and embroidery techniques.
Aimed at absolute beginners and those who love to play and have fun with textiles.
Ann’s approach is always creative and encourages having a go rather than perfect results.

Ann says: “We will cover two techniques each workshop from some of the following: hand stitch, fabric manipulation, ideas books, gathering and dyeing, mono print on fabric, fusing scraps, design skills and machine embroider y and more. Each workshop can stand alone or can be part of a short learning course.”

Skill Level: Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced stitchers.

Cost: £50 per person (includes all materials and equipment use).

The Craft House was established in 2016 in Saltaire by April Chamberlain, who continues to manage the business. Having started in Saltaire, The Craft House is now run from new, larger, premises at 109-111 Main Street, Bingley. We have a lovely ground floor cafe and welcoming workshop spaces on the first floor (reached by stairs with two handrails). We offer a vibrant programme of art, craft and textile workshops and courses for adults, enabling you to develop existing skills as well as try new activities. Working closely with a team of talented artist/maker tutors, we provide expertly-run classes in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We cater for a range of skill levels, from first-time participants to people with existing skills (including other professional artists and makers looking to develop their techniques). Our emphasis is on encouraging creativity and enjoyment whilst passing on key skills. We also cater for private parties and events - please telephone us or call into the cafe to discuss. Please note that all our events are subject to us achieving minimum booking requirements, as we need to ensure they are commercially viable for our tutors - if we have to cancel an event, we will refund your ticket and give you as much notice as possible.
