Event description

Description

The aim of the exhibition glory in dis honour is to generate conversation and tackle some of the taboos and challenges muslim women face in creating their art.

Therefore, we are also incorporating a panel discussion on Friday 18th August during the exhibition with an all muslim, female line up. The panel will discuss topics such as faith and creativity, feminism, and taboo topics such as sexuality and mysogny within the muslim community. It will look at how all these factors can work to aid or hinder muslim women within their creative process.

Panelists include Bayan Goudarzpour a writer and poet for woc collective Men Are Trash, Nafissa Bakkar of Amaliah.com, Jannat Hussein a 20 year old artist whom also has her work displayed at the exhibtion. Names of more panelists will be annouced soon.
