Event description
Glos Green Circle's March meeting explores energy: how to buy green energy, how to make your own and how to reduce the amount you need.

About this Event

ENERGY: buying, making and saving it

Thursday 12th March, 9am-12.45pm

Venue: The School of Business & Technology, University of Gloucestershire

Business and industry use 50% of energy in the UK and account for 25% of the country's carbon dioxide emissions. The Gloucestershire Energy Strategy sets a target for making the county CO2 neutral by 2050. But what will be the impact for local businesses? Can it bring benefits for companies, whatever their size, as well as the planet?

The March meeting of Gloucestershire Green Circle will explore the energy options available for businesses:

  • the benefits of using solar power
  • an insight into the energy market and buying green energy
  • plus ways to reduce the amount needed in the first place.

Whether you're a sole trader or large company, you'll leave this event with plenty of tips, ideas and solutions for delivering your own carbon neutral strategy.

As usual, the meeting will offer you the opportunity to hear experts in their field providing the latest information, trends and up-to-date advice, as well as plenty of opportunities to network and make new connections.

Mypower is a leading designer and installer of solar power systems, principally for commercial companies but its roll call of clients includes Gloucester Cathedral and Gloucestshire County Council. It's celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and is based in Toddington in Gloucestershire.

Severn Wye Energy Agency is the county's independent not-for-profit energy company whose mission is to provide practical expertise for more energy efficient and sustainable living. Its staff work with businesses, communities, schools and homeowners.

Ameresco provides energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for companies in UK and North America, working with clients of all sizes from schools and retail to public housing and manufacturing & industry.
