Glug Birmingham returns to Spotlight & Mama Roux for the second part of their 'Craft & Graft' series for an evening of design talks by leading creatives across the U.K on Thursday 30th June.
Inkygoodness and WE ARE GOODNESS have been busy over the last few months to secure an incredible line up for our 5th Glug event! Three brilliant creative speakers will take the stage to deliver inspiring design talks, alongside playful activities, live art, street food, pop-up sellers & more!
Please note: Online tickets for this event end at 3pm on 30/06 - a limited number of tickets will be available on the door, priced at £10. Cash only. Arrive early!

Supermundane (UK)
Rob Lowe, also known as Supermundane, is an artist, graphic designer, typographer, illustrator and writer with over 20 years experience in the creative industry. His signature mesmeric drawings have been published and exhibited worldwide. In 2012 he debut a new direction of pure line and colour, exploring depth, movement and optical effects. He has been responsible for designing some of the most groundbreaking independent magazines of the last decade including the alternative children’s magazine Anorak and the award-winning food quarterly Fire & Knives. His practice is defined by a distinctive use of colour, line and simplicity which can be seen through all his different disciplines from typeface design to his personal works. He lives and works in London.

Emily Forgot (UK)
Emily Forgot is the appropriately curious moniker of London based graphic artist Emily Alston. Embracing the odd, the everyday & the sometimes surreal, her playful visual language and image making continues to innovate, evolve and surprise. Turning her hand to anything from illustration, retail display, print design and visual identity she prides herself on approaching all briefs with creative thought, originality, humour and beauty in mind, whether the work be a commissioned piece or a flight of her own fancy. Her enthusiasm, curiosity and eye for detail have stood her in good stead so far gaining recognition in publications such as the Creative Review, Vogue, ID, and Grafik magazine as one to watch

Isabel + Helen is a creative partnership based in London specialising in set design and interactive installations. Selected clients include Selfridges, Nike, Victoria & Albert Museum, Puma, INT Works, Protein, Farfetch, Secret Garden Party Festival, Its Nice That, The RIBA and Red Bull Music Academy.

Art happenings & pop-up stalls by...
- Aidan Saunders and his travelling Print Wagon will be back sharing his print process and selling one-off editions
- Becky Howson from BCU's The Winterbourne Press invites you to explore the wonderful craft of letterpress printing using an Adana 8:5 press to create a print. Discover a process that is over five hundred years old and explore the stunning language of letterpress!
- Brummie illustrator Katie Tomlinson is setting up shop with her Portrait Booth and will be doodling your faces throughout the night! Pick up an original drawing for just £5.
- Local illustration talent Raj Dhunna will be selling a range of colourful, limited edition illustrated prints.

Street Food
New for 2016, Digbeth Dining Club have invited traditional 'chaat' traders The Indian Rasoi to join us at Glug! Taking inspiration from the street 'wallahs' of their favourite places in India and the authentic, home cooked recipes which have been cooked in their family Rasoi for generations, the family run business will be serving up a variety of meat dishes, vegetarian and vegan friendly fare throughout the evening. Delicious!

How to find us
Spotlight & Mama Roux are located round the corner from The Custard Factory on Lower Trinity St. Parking is available on Floodgate St. and there is an NCP car park opposite the venue. If you're arriving on foot, head towards The Custard Factory and take the next left after Gibb St. towards The Old Crown pub, and take a left onto Heath Mill Lane. Walk passed The Old Crown beer garden and continue under the bridge. Lower Trinity St. is located to your right.
