The Improvement Practitioner modules have been co-designed with members and partners based upon the needs and challenges that they are facing in understanding and improving the culture of safety within their organisations. We believe that addressing behaviours, understanding safety cultures and measuring impact are key components of any safety improvement plans and can be referenced within your ‘Sign Up To Safety’ plans.

The Greater Manchester Academic Health Science Network have commissioned this 1 day course as part of their Patient Safety Collaborative Programme, supporting improvements in patient safety across the region.
What will attendees learn this event / workshop?
Using a human factors approach with root cause analysis
Using risk-based thinking when designing improvements for patient safety
Gain an understanding of the effects of teamwork, tasks, equipment, workspace, culture and the organisation on human behaviour and abilities when undertaking root cause analysis
Hear about tools to aid formulation of more effective recommendations following RCA
Understand how thinking about risk when designing improved systems and processes minimises the chances of failure and creates safer systems
