About this event

Business • Startups

This event is funded by Dudley Council for the benefit of Dudley borough businesses only.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes a legal requirement from April 2026. This event is highly relevant to sole traders, landlords, small business owners, and those considering starting a limited company. The aim is to help attendees stay compliant, avoid unnecessary stress, and understand the upcoming changes.

Who this will benefit

• Sole traders and landlords who will be affected by Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD for ITSA).

• Small business owners looking to streamline tax and record-keeping processes.

• Individuals considering setting up a limited company and wanting clarity on structure, compliance, and registration.

• Company directors who need to understand new identity verification rules coming from 18 November 2025.

What will the event cover?

• What MTD for ITSA means, who it applies to, when it applies, and what records must be kept.

• The different options for compliance: software, support packages, and submissions.

• Company formation and what this entails including tax registration, business structure advice, director duties, compliance guidance, and registered office address

• The new GOV.UK One Login: what it is, who needs it, and how it links to HMRC and Companies House services.

• Upcoming Companies House identity checks under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act. And the requirement for an Authorised Corporate Service Provider

The presentation will be practical, straightforward, and designed to give attendees confidence in meeting their obligations while taking advantage of available support.
