Go ON NW Partnership Meeting

This is the Summer 2017 partnership meeting for Go ON NW. All organisations interested in the aims of improving digital inclusion and equipping people with basic online skills are welcome to attend. Each quarterly meeting is generously hosted by a partner organisation. This one is hosted by North West TUC.

The meeting starts at 10am (arrivals from 9:30am) and will end at 3pm.

This is the first time the quarterly Go ON Partnership meeting is being held in Liverpool. Go ON is a national initiative that brings together local government, charities, banks, trade unions, among other sectors, to share their experiences of promoting digital inclusion and identify ways of resolving digital exclusion.

What's on the agenda?

My House of Memories – a museum app co-created for and by people living with dementia

Dawn Carroll is the ‘House of Memories’ Relationship Programme Manager at National Museums Liverpool, contributing to the development of an expanding House of Memories engagement programme (partnership, digital training and further resources). Dawn currently leads on digital content for House of Memories, working collaboratively with colleagues in cultural, health and social care sectors. Dawn played a key role in the development of the ‘My House of Memories app’ which was co-created by people living with dementia.

The presentation will give an overview of the My House of Memories app, some of the key features that came out of the co-creation process, and plans to expand the app in the future. There will also be an opportunity to try out the app for yourself!

Sustainable Technology for Older People - Get Organised (STOPandGo)

Ann Williams, Adult Services and Health Commissioning and Contracts Manager at Liverpool City Council, on adopting innovation procurement approaches to enable cooperation between care providers and technology companies to deliver an ICT enabled domiciliary care service to improve care outcomes and cost and operational efficiencies. This presentation demonstrates how an innovative enabling procurement approach together with well targeted grant funding was used to transform social care service provision and create a framework for further adoption of technology. It was enabled by the EC StopandGo project.

Citizens Advice Collaborative Digital Programmes

Heather Brent, Director of Citizens Advice Liverpool, on channel shift opportunities and challenges for advice provision, innovative youth engagement app and up skilling of volunteers and elderly clients.

Additional Speaker may still be announced ahead of the event. Watch this space! Email notification will also be sent to all those registered to attend.

More about the meeting

This round table event brings together anything from 15 to 35 colleagues, depending on the venue, from an array of public and private organisations. Attendees get the chance to talk about the latest achievements or challenges they’ve had within the scope of digital inclusion/exclusion.

The event is facilitated by iNetwork. The participatory format allows for focused discussions to take place and offers a variety of speakers the chance to showcase any relevant work or ideas to the group. A light lunch is provided and a mutually beneficial experience is guaranteed for all those in attendance. Presentations and highlights from the meeting are posted on Knowledge Hub, which enables further exposure throughout iNetwork’s membership. Links to these resources are also included in the official Go ON NW newsletter for the Partnership’s wider readership.
