Catch and learn about the amazing freshwater wildlife in the Blashford Lakes pond. Suitable for families but adults also welcome!
About this event
DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THE MORNING SESSION WE ARE NOW OFFERING AN AFTERNOON POND DIP AS WELL!
We will provide you with the specialist equipment and demonstrate how to dip safely in our purpose built dipping pond so you may discover the fabulous freshwater life lurking in the weedy depths of the pond.
Field guides coupled with expert assistance from our staff and volunteers will help you identify and learn more about your catch which never fails to amaze!
This event is for a maximum of 30 people. When booking you will be asked to read and agree to our COVID-19 agreement. For further details about how we will keep you, your family and our staff and volunteers safe whilst pond dipping please email BlashfordLakes@hiwwt.org.uk for a copy of our risk assessment
Children must be accompanied by an adult and children will at all times be the responsibility of the accompanying adult(s).
Booking is essential via Eventbrite.
Please note that tickets are required for each attendee, including each accompanying adult.
Please arrive 5 minutes before the session is due to start
Please meet by the pond behind the Education Centre, Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, Ellingham Drove, Ringwood, BH24 3PJ
Please note the Education Centre remains closed to visitors - but hand washing facilities will be available by the pond and we also are providing portable toilets outside the Centre for visitor use.
Please dress for the weather on the day.
Finding us: The Education Centre is on the south side of Ellingham Drove.
Please note the Nature Reserve is not signposted from the main A338 Ringwood to Salisbury road and sat nav can mis direct you at the Ellingham Crossroads - when turning off the A338, follow signs to Moyles Court and Linwood. The Education Centre is the first turning on the right hand side once you have turned off the A338, marked by a large wooden cut out of a kingfisher.
