An interactive performance focusing on free speech and the way we talk about race and gender. This piece will explore how everyone how work to do politically, both the right and the left. Through found items, an audience will display somethings they may agree or not agree with. This piece will focus on how all of our views should be expressed and challenged, as no idea is above scrutiny.
This is a work in progress performance, and will be Pay What You Decide after the piece finishes based on how much you think it is worth. Please do book to reserve your seat though as places are limited.

Jamal Gerald is an artist based in Leeds. His work is conversational, socially conscious, a celebration of individuality and focuses on identity and lived experiences. Mostly making the type of work that he wants to see. Trying to make sure that each piece he creates is a different form to the one he made before. He’s currently making a body of work, entitled ‘Boxes’, which is focusing on the concepts of labels and privilege. He has made work for poetry slams, films, parties, cafes and theatres. In 2016, he toured his first solo show ‘FADoubleGOT’ nationally. His work has been shown at
SPILL Festival of Performance, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Homotopia, Queer Contact and Battersea Arts Centre.
