The Great Big Tree Climbing Company comes to Golden Cap Estate
Join The Great Big Tree Climbing Company and National Trust Rangers Team for some tree climbing bush craft and fire building adventures, as part of our 50 things to do before your 11 ¾ challenge.
Two friendly instructors help all ages reach new heights in an tree in our woodland at Langdon Hill. They will teach you how to enter a tree’s canopy using ropes, knots and karabiners, whilst being securely attached to a harness. Once at the top of the tree you will gain an experience which can’t be found on the ground plus have amazing views of the coast. You will also be wizzed up and down the aerial runway. That will then be followed by instruction and a pratical hands on approach to outdoor cooking and fire skills under the instruction of the National Trust Rangers Team.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your climbing slot, meet at the top of Langdon Hill carpark.

What is the minimum age to enter the event?
We recommend participants be six years old or above. The technique taught is slightly complex and younger children are unlikely to grasp the concept.
Is suitable for adults?
Yes it most definitely is. Furthermore we thoroughly recommend adults participate alongside the children they are accompanying.
I am accompanying my children, do I have to buy a ticket for myself?
No, you only need to buy one if you are planning to participate in the climbing. If you plan just to watch you do not need a ticket.
Can I take photos on the day?
Of course you can! We encourage you to share your best ones on our Facebook page too. If you sign our photo permission slip we may take photos of you or your children and put them on Facebook.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Onsite parking is available (parking charges may apply)
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Either phone the office on 0800 0556760 or email email@example.com. Our standard office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9.00am - 12.30pm.
If phoning on a weekend please do not expect an immediate reply. It is likely our event organisers are onsite at your time of calling so please allow some time for them to respond to voicemails or emails.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you can save the confirmation email on your phone also.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
That is fine. As long as you can quote the name of the individual who bought the ticket.
I'm struggling to complete payment, why is this?
Some buyers have experienced problems when booking on iphones or similar smartphones.
It could be possible that the online booking system has closed. It generally closes 90 minutes prior to the start of an event day.
The event may be full.
Do I have to pay with paypal?
Unfortunately we are unable to process advance bookings with anything other than paypal. It takes only minutes to set up and is extremely secure.
What if I want to book a last minute slot?
Please contact the event organiser on 0800 0556760. If the event is not sold out he/she may be able to take manual bookings over the phone.
What happens if the weather if horrendous?
We will run the event in all weather except high winds, thunder or lightening. In the event of this the event will be rearranged for an alternative date. If you cannot make this date you will be entitled to a refund.
