Event description

Description

This Gong Bath Sound Sanctuary session is unusual in being dedicated to an animal totem, but those who know me and how I work understand that I follow my instincts when choosing themes for my events.

Whales have existed here on earth for eons of time, and are carriers of ancient wisdom. They are connected to the stars that guide their migrations across the mighty oceans, and they are selfless and compassionate creatures that embody Love in its highest frequency. The song of the Whale speaks to us on a level outside our normal experience. Their resilient, gentle and loving presence reminds us of our deeper connections, and the peace that comes from Oneness.

The following text is extracted from http://www.spiritanimal.info/whale-spirit-animal/

The whale spirit animal is the earth’s record keeper for all time. As a totem, the whale teaches you about listening to your inner voice, understanding the impact your emotions have on your everyday life, and following your own truth. When the whale enters your life, it may be time to closely examine where you are, the actions and emotions that have brought you to this point, and what you can do to alleviate existing drama and unrest and find peace. Those who have the whale as their animal totem are in touch with true reality. They are nurturers and go-getters who understand there is more to this life than meets the eye.

Whale Symbolism

The whale is commonly associated with emotion, inner truth, and creativity. Here are additional meanings for this totem:

Wisdom holder

Physical and emotional healing

Keeper of history

Importance of family and community

Emotional rebirth

Peaceful strength

Communication

Among the most recognized modern tales of the whale as a teacher is that of Captain Ahab’s pursuit of the gigantic Sperm Whale, known as Moby Dick. Superstition, the sea as a transformative vessel, and an examination of the massive mammal as a creature of undefined greatness pervade the novel. The whale is symbolic of that which cannot be easily vanquished — just as a person’s inner truth, voice, and creativity cannot be easily silenced or subdued.

Whales and Communication

Whales are amazing communicators, able to connect and commune with other whales over thousands of miles of ocean. The whale supports us in communicating clearly from our hearts to bridge large distances with others. Whales are also very family oriented, so the whale helps us bridge any gaps that are keeping us from connecting deeper with our loved ones. Whales support us in speaking our truth with emotion, vulnerability and power.

The Whale Spirit Animal Requests Emotional Rebirth

If the whale is calling to you, then it might be time to take inventory of the emotional pressures you’re under. Just as the whale can dive into the depths of the sea and endure immense pressure, people holding the whale spirit animal also are able to endure both emotional and physical pressures. But not forever, just as the whale must surface to take new breath, so must you. If the whale is showing up this could be a powerful opportunity to remember, let go and forgive. Making space to give birth to your fullest expression and flowing creativity.

Nothing is required of you at my regular Gong Bath Sound Sanctuary at Zen Yoga except to turn up, lie down, and chill out. It’s a time in the week when you can give yourself permission to do something only for you; a sanctuary to which you can retreat to refresh and renew your body, mind, and spirit, gently guided by someone who is focused on your wellbeing.

The guided relaxation and meditation will ease you into Alpha and Theta brainwave states, when your brain will match the frequency of the Schumann Resonance, the pulse of the Earth.

No water is involved in a Gong Bath; the pulses of sound cause the cells of the body to vibrate sympathetically with the frequencies produced by the instruments, delivering a massage at a level below conscious awareness - though sometimes this can be felt as tingling sensations in the body.

The effect can be to stimulate a healing response in muscles, joints, and tendons, and - because the brain easily enters a meditative brainwave state, there may also be a reduction in stress responses.

Feel free to bring some crystals if you have them. You may also want to bring a candle in a jar, and if we have enough, we will do the session by candlelight. I recommend you wear warm layers including socks, as body temperature drops quickly in a deeply relaxed state.

Please arrive AT LEAST 10 MINUTES EARLY for a 7.30pm start. There are drop-in attendees as well, and sessions can be very busy, so if you want to pick the best spot, don’t come late! :-) No access is possible when the session is in progress.

Price £15, plus the Eventbrite booking fee if booked online. £10 Concessions payable on the door.

Gong Baths are not advised for those who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or suffer from epilepsy, menieres syndrome or a serious mental condition such as psychosis. Some medical implants are fine: please ask first! Gong Bathing is otherwise beneficial for all.
